There's a thread on the Red Square Wheel Horse forum that just for ugly seats. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/63448-ugly-seat-contest/ I thought there should be some ugly seats that you guys ran across. So here are the rules:

1. Must be on a John Deere lawn or garden tractor (or rear engine rider)
2. Must be one you currently own or have owned in the past.
3. No photoshopping.

I'll start. Here's the one on a 208 I had a few years back (I wish I kept that 208)

A 110 that passed through my hands a few years ago.

A GT245 (seat is completely off the seat base)

And finally one off a 68 rer.

I expect you guys can do better (worse), but it's all I have from the pictures on this computer.

Jared,
That is one nasty looking seat. But it seems to fit the rest of the tractor.

Here's the seat on my 86 318 (Currently a fancy two piece detachable seat)

And the seat on my new 77 300;

We also have a JD 180 with a terrible seat but I don't have any pics right now. When I get some I'll add them to this post.

My 317 I picked up last fall and have been working on this winter. It's actually worse now that I've sat on it some, lol. It cracks and rips more every time. Yes, it did used to be yellow.

I once bought a 1969 patio 140 that was subsequently traded to another member here -- it was a bit of a basket case and the seat was certifiably ugly for sure...but it did have the proper texture painted metal pan. Too bad it was so far gone...

The seat on the 317 that I picked up with the Onan repower was also a bit rough, and the pavement sealer smeared everywhere did not help the aesthetics any either...

The sun does tend to fade the color on the yellow seats, turning them, at times, almost white.

That's some pretty classy duct tape you got there John.

Does anybody remember that old ripped up seat John Lang was trying to give away years ago? He said if nobody wanted it he was going to junk it. As I recall he junked it. I know I copied the pic because I was going to offer good money for it after he pitched. Never did place the WTB ad.

I thought the seat I got with my 317 was bad, but some of you have humbled me

I too have had lots of ugly seats, but none with shag carpet attached with electrical wire -- that one is going to be hard to top...

Does it need to be a John Deere seat. This was on a Homelite CT-10 that I picked up.
It had some shag carpet sewn on with electrical wire.
Sorry, read rule 1 on the first post. Must be from a John Deere lawn or garden tractor, or rear engine rider. But, kudos for the ugly seat.
