I've noticed that the throttle lever is dropping along with the speed lever on my 430. It has happened in the past but only slightly, yesterday it was doing to almost half quite quickly. Is this normal or is there a friction adjustment that I don't know about?

My 420 was doing the same thing. There was a bolt for the lever pivot that i tightened up. There should be a friction plate somewhere close to the hydro lever.

Thanks, I'll look next time I'm working on it. I've leaned many things from WFM and plan to keep learning. I've met two guys locally that have helped with parts and info.

Also don't use any lubricant.
For the friction, a kind of brake pad material is used.

I had a problem with a 317 repowered with a Koler Command Pro 25 HP engine, I just purchased a new JD 430 throttle control cable etc. to attempt to fix the problem. More later, I can not find my device (microSD card) to upload the photos!
