The governer on my v60 doesn't work. I'm trying to adjust it but before I go too far, shouldn't I feel some resistance there? I disconnected the linkage, started it, and I don't feel any resistance regardless of engine speed. Is there a known problem with these. I just want to be sure there is'nt a shortcut before I pull it apart.

David, I had the same problem on my 60, I had the linkages reversed on the carb/throttle plate. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion Dan. I did have my homemade linkage reversed according to the Tecumseh manual I found online. I also set the governer up according to thier specs. but no luck. I have no resistance on the lever at all so I'm going inside to see what may be broke.I'll keep you all posted.

I took it apart and found the wire loop part had slipped out of the spool. Everything else looks OK. Hopefully I'll get it back together today and see what happens.

Found out the real problem was the weights had slipped out from under the spool and were on top rendering the whole thing usless. Fixed and works great now.
