Is it ok to use the Valspar Restoration hardener with the JD enamel paint? I cannot find RENEW hardener anywhere near me and TSC has tons of the Restoration hardener. I know JD paint is made by Valspar but I'll take experience over Google before I spend $20 on Valspar or $34 on RENEW.

My local JD dealer didn't want to order it for me because he didn't knew about that and the RENEW come in a box of 6.
Then I show him the back of this JD paint catalog.

I said something like that to him: "After weeks of sandblasting, welding, cleaning, sanding, most of us want their paint job to look as good as possible and not only for few years".
"If you explain the advantage to everyone who buy paint, you will have to buy another 6 pack very soon."

He bought the 6 pack.

I know I could get shunned, but Case uses the Renew hardener also. It might pain you to walk in there, but if they have it and JD doesn't...they win!

I guess I thought I remembered seeing the Renew hardener in TSC...along with the restoration series stuff.
I cant imagine they are any different though.

you can use any brand of hardener as long as it is for a acrylic enamel based paint.
