Working on my '66 110

How do you get the variable speed lever "hub" removed from the speed control shaft?

hub part # M 11003 M
shaft part # AM 30023 M

I'm in the process of breaking down the pedestal assembly and got hung up here.

There is a roll pin under the hub drive it up, the pin can be recovered after the hub is off. You'll have to pry it off, it has a keyway.

Thanks.... On the very bottom of the hub is a small hole where originally I thought there might be a set screw, but of course there isn’t. I fished a small wire thru that hole and it comes clear thru the shaft and out the top. See Photo....

I’m thinking the pin is already missing and I can put a puller on the hub and remove it. I’m just trying not to tear anything up.

The wire is probably going thru the center of the roll pin. Try prying some if it doesn't move the pin is still there. The roll pins on JD's aren't the spiral wound heavy duty like on some CC

Neither of my manuals showed accurately what was going on with that pin.
