I just purchased a JD 216 garden tractor for a decent enough price the original engine must have been an issue at some point. The engine that is in this tractor is a Kohler K321 14 HP, I would like to find a replacement K341 16 HP to put in the tractor. Is there a specific serial number that I need to look for to fit on the motor mounts? I have looked at model info and it appears to be a 1979, serial number on the tractor is 099000. Any help would be great, thanks.

You're in the wrong forum. The late model forums are for tractors built after 1992. Your 216 belongs in the Restoration & Repair forums. You will get better and more responses if you post there. Thanks.

I couldn't post to old thread, so I started this one. The last response was from John of the thread" Primary Belt Replacement"
John, The (4) bolt and (5) are seized. I did get them out and cleaned them up. Put in some new "O" rings. The grease fitting was also seized. Cleaned that out also and re-greased. I mic'ed the (15) and it's very close to what it should be. Next step is to re-install and try it out. I'll let you all know.

Now I'll tell you what happened as soon as I put it in the mail.I came home and was assembling my 110(putting motor in),and I had the clutch brake in place before hand.I had to take it out to put the clutch brake on,as I did this,it fell on the floor and the lining fell off the brake! After cursing for 5 minutes,I cleaned it all up and (glued) it back together and installed it.I used 3M adhesive,not sure if it will do the job or not.But that is just the way it goes!

If you`d like, I can mail it back to you. I had planned to try and glue on a brake pad to the brake clutch I was removing.
