I gambled on a crankshaft that appeared to be a 32987 for a VH70. When I got it, all measurements matched, the pulley fit, but I noticed one thing. On the flywheel side, there is a cam lobe for the points, when comparing the two crankshafts, the one I just got has a much steeper rolloff than the original, if that makes sense. The guy I bought it from was a pretty sure it was from a VH70, I got the engine block as well which as far as I can tell is an exact match. My question is whether the difference in this cam will be useable. As far as I can tell the points these use are pretty common across most models. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The important thing with points cams is how quickly they open not how quickly the close. The opening is what controls the timing not the closing. If it opens at the same place it should work. Welcome to WFM. roger
