The VH70 is the Vertical Heavy duty and the V is just vertical.

I know the big difference is the VH is cast iron, the V is aluminum.

Any other major differences like ball bearings etc?

Does the V have that plunger pressure lube like the VH does?

Picked up a V70 today and got it running and it purrs like a kitten. Thinking of putting in my my 70 that blew a rod in the VH70.

my wifes 70 has this engine in it. I got it like that so i don't have the answer to the technical part of it, but i can tell a differnce between it and my nieces 70 that has the vh in it. the v seams to vibrate more than the vh, but that maybe something else, the v does not have the pto on it

Wonder if I could retrofit electric start. I assume the flywheel would interchange, but don't know if the aluminum block has the bosses to bolt it (I forget, how does it mount?)

Shannon, the heavier engine may not shake as much due to weight. The lighter engine has the same balance/unbalance but less weight to dampen it.

Is your V electric start?

I dont see any bosses for a start on my v70.

Anyone have a picture of how it mounts?
