I'm fixing up a 430 to use for a loader tractor. Looking at the rear of the transmission there are 3 threaded bosses 2 look to be 1/2" and the other 3/8- 7/16. What are they used for? 2 of mine are busted out and the other has a broken off bolt in it. I looked in the tech manual and didn't see them used. Next question: upon refilling the trans, I had a bad leak at one of those bosses after looking closely, it's cracked, and can I patch it with JB Weld. Thanks

Richard that is where a rear pto hooks up. It may be easier to find a different center section if you need the rear pto to run a pump for the loader. I know a lot of the loaders use a separate pump for faster cycle times. You can certainly try and patch it with JB Weld but I don't think I would trust it for running a rear pto if you need to. I believe it has been discussed before that any of the open framed tractor center sections can work as long as you finish drilling the holes for the 2 speed and the diff lock and then put all of the guts out of your 430 center section into the new center section. Otherwise you could just buy a complete rear end from a 420 or 430 getting parted out.
