Young guy called me about buying a transaxle for his 212. I have been expecting this call for about a year. Another young fellow put a 25hp Onan in the 212 for a puller. One pop of the clutch and it was Audios tranny

I called the young guy with the 25hp Onan in the 212 ,all that broke was a axle-shaft. Maybe he pulls in 4th gear.

Sweet...is that 216 stock under the hood? You/he should do a photo thread on that one.
Thank you. Mostly a 216 yes. It’s still belt drive running a K341. I’ll get some more pics for you. Very competitive against the Cubs.

My 214 has a tapping sound that makes me think of rod issues. Is there a way to determine a rod knock with out tearing the engine down for measurements?

You can pull the head, set the engine at bdc, put your hand on the piston, turn the engine slightly back and forth and feel for looseness. It is hard to describe how to do it

2nd gear is not strong enough. Very easy to shell it. 3rd gear works quite well and I never saw one break. Learned this from pulling 41 years ago.
