I am restoring a 60. bought it not running with a broke rod in it.replaced rod, no start,replaced points and condenser no start
rebuilt carb no start
checked timming marks on cam gear and its right on
did shear off key on flywheel
has plenty of spark and it will pop right away but will not try to start after that
cranks over fine
i took engine out and put in a 7hp and it runs so i have no idea

Is there a way to check timing on these engines? If its sparking, and you have fuel, and compression, something may be out of time.

had a broken head bolt on it, got it to run just need to get carb adjusted
