I think JD and Kawasaki realized there was not much benefit to having liquid cooled vertical shaft engines in lawnmowers. Warranty and maintenance issues and cost. Cab heater in the winter is easier with liquid though. You might make out better by selling the x540 on your own, and then buying the x590.
