Anybody have a part # for the alternator on a 332. Or a replacement option. Mine just froze in the middle of the front yard. Practically welded together. Says “made in Japan” on it so I’m guessing it’s not original. (The wire nuts connecting it also confirms this).
I have a 322 sitting in the garage, is the alternator on that interchangeable? I would think so, but figured I’d ask.

Jwalter04,

Actually the original alternators were made in Japan (as were the Yanmar engines...) Here is the alternator section from the engine manual:

View attachment alternator section of CTM12.pdf

The alternator part number from The PC2139 parts catalog is AM877557 ALTERNATOR (SUB FOR AM876055) -- but an even more current number is MIA10338 as seen here:

These are not cheap, and there are some on ebay and other sites but used is its own set of risks...

...by the way, the 322 alternator is indeed the same unit...

My advice is not to wait until the bearings fail. Consider replacing them before catastrophic failure occurs, they tend to get noisy beforehand
but not necessarily, I wouldn't rely on that as a definite precursor. They are relatively inexpensive and quite easy to replace.....:thumb:

Agree on doing the bearings. The belt isn't that expensive to replace but the amount of labor to replace due to the radiator and drive shaft makes it a fun day.

Lastly- lots of tractors have that alternator. Pretty sure my 4115 jd cut has it too.
