So after replacing exhaust manifold gaskets and muffler, I've finally figured out that I'm getting blow by from a bad head gasket. A new set will be here in a few days. Does anyone know if I should use gasket sealer or just torque the head bolts to spec without anything else? The Onan P220 manual doesn't say anything about this so thought I'd see if anyone knows if it's needed. Many thanks!

They do go on dry. You can lap your heads on 500 paper taped to glass using a figure 8 pattern. If you really want to coat them permatex copper spray is the only thing I’d use. Let it tack off before installing.
