Has anyone ever converted a manual lift on a 214 to a hydraulic lift? If you have can you pass along details of what you had to do?

You need to find a hydraulic lift tractor and just change all the parts over. None of the 200s left the factory with the hydraulic lift and all were installed by the owner or the dealer. Thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people have done the conversion for that reason. Be very careful you get every part to do the conversion as if you have to buy any missing pieces they are very expensive and hard to find. You do have to modify the left side engine cover for belt clearance. It would probably be easier and maybe cheaper just to find a hydraulic lift tractor. All of this is also true for electric lift tractors except cutting the engine cover. Roger

I've done it. It wasn't too terrible. One other thing to consider is that the K321 in your tractor came with a crankshaft that had a thread on the end and a flywheel nut. The drive pulley for the pump threads onto this shaft in place of the flywheel nut. If the engine has been replaced it may have the newer style crank which has an internal thread and a bolt to hold the flywheel on. This style of crank is not compatible.

Ray , the hydraulic kits often pop up on Ebay . The are usually around $350.00 and the will be a minimum of 24 years old. May need new O-rings & gaskets . I made my own system for my 112 for about $225.00. I posted a thread , but do not know how to create a link. If you type Nissan into the search box it is called "My 112 h1 conversion". It obviously isn't original equipment , but it works great.

Ray, I have done both. I converted my first 212 with parts I bought piece meal and it is a H2. And my second 212 I found a kit in the classifieds and is a H1. It is a very handy option to have if you are using a tiller or snow blower. It also opens other options, like a homemade 3 pt hitch and load lifter.

Yes , it's the P/S pump . We have a great scrapyard in CR . K's Acres . A scroungers dream come true. They let you pull your own parts from the vehicle and I got the pump , reservoir and mounting brackets which I used on the tractor.

Thanks, Michael! I like the bigger fluid tank but I can see it would really crowd a car-sized battery. I like the modified left side console cover, too. Did you fabricate the pump mount bracket or is that a John Deere bracket? Thanks again.

Nice job Michael. Did you use flex hose from the valve to the front couplers? I did something similar and trying to locate where the plumbing could go was really difficult with the 200's. I finally bought 2 lengths of hose and ran over the top and in front of the air cleaner. Would have preferred to go down and under but there was too much stuff.
