I have 20x8x8 Carlisle turf savers mounted on wheels that have the valve hole near the edge of the rim (see image for example) and went and picked up two tubes from HD. They are a universal fit with the straight valve slightly offset from the center line. After inserting one of the tubes and starting to inflate it, the valve started to pull back into the wheel. The problem is the valve is so close to the middle that it cannot protrude out the side.
I am worried if I use pliers or something to hold it while filling that the valve will be pinched somehow. The tires have plenty of tread and I hate to replace them if I can get a tube to work. I ws thinking of taking the to Goodyear Monday, but doubt they would use these tubes or have the right ones in stock. I have searched for a John Deere brand tube that perhaps has the valve closer to the edge, but cannot find any.
For those that have gone with tubes, did you have the same offest issue? How did you overcome it?
