I hope someone can help me. I broke a connecting rod in my JD318. It has an Onan P218G motor. I need to know what the torque specs would be for the connecting rod and the head bolts.
eric the connecting rod cap screws are 9in ibs.and head bolts are 12in pounds.after putting it back together leave the side shields off the motor and run it for a while to get hot then re-check the torque on the head bolts.
if you don't have a inch pound torque wrench.the heads will be 15ft.lbs.12in pounds for every 1 ft pound.brad
