Tim, the tractor and the blade won't be an issue because you can always take the blade off of the tractor if you don't want to leave the tailgate down. As for the mower deck, when I picked up my 140, the deck did not fit in between the wheel wells so I took it off as well.

 

A 140 with blade will fit in an 8 foot pu bed without a problem, it will even fit with the integral hitch on the tractor.

Tim, you surely will not have a problem with a full sized truck. I just picked up a '68 140 with a blade, and backed it into my Dakota shortbed (6.5'), but left the tailgate down. With an 8' bed, you've got it made, otherwise, bring strap with you.
