What are you guys using for spark plugs in your 318's? Is any particular brand better suited for onans? Mine is a 1983. thanks Alan

Imo I tried the champion on my P218 and I couldn't keep my engine idle after checking the carb all it could be was my spark plugs, so I crossed the number over to autolite and bought me a set and she idled perfectly fine.

JMO here - I have found NGK to be the best plugs for small 1 and 2 cylinder engines. (I work on a lot of 2-stroke m/c engines). The NGK's don't foul as easy as the others and seem to last longer. Obviously - it's important to have the correct heat range plug for your engine, esp. a 2-stroke.

NGK here as well. With the exception of my current motorcycle, all my not car/truck stuff has NGK plugs in it. The only reason the VTX doesnt is because the Bosch +4 plugs seem to work better in that particular application.

I picked up the tr5 but it didn't have the washers so it seemed too long, figured I bought the wrong ones, did you notice it was a bit different? Also it was v grooved, ended up putting in the champions. Maybe I should give them another shot though...

In the JD manual for both Onan they suggest CHAMPION RS14YC or NGK BPR5EFS
The TR5 is a
BPR5EFS improved with the V groove.
All of them have taper seat, not washer.
Is your engine is the original?
