New to the forum, have been viewing from afar. I must apologize ahead of time for the lengthy post.
I have recently became the owner of a John Deere 325 w/48” convertible deck with a Kawasaki 17 hp air cooled engine (FC540V)
The mower has had a rough life up to this point. Received it in no running-no rolling condition-numerous engine issues, flat tire, etc.
So far I have corrected all the engine issues, and running very well. Have taken care of the tire issues as well some unforeseen deck issues.
Now here is where I am in hopes some of you mechanical gurus can help me. I am having issues with the transmission when I first received the mower, it would not pull with the bypass lever/shuttle mode pulled out. It didn’t help with the tire issues going on either.
Now that they have been corrected, It still will not pull backwards with the lever pulled. It will however roll forward, but it will also pull forward regardless of the lever position. The transmission will drive the mower both forward and reverse. It will just not go int transport/bypass mode.
Fluid is clean and full. Note: the mower has set for about 2 years without running.
