eric the connecting rod cap screws are 9in ibs.and head bolts are 12in pounds.after putting it back together leave the side shields off the motor and run it for a while to get hot then re-check the torque on the head bolts.

 

If I'm not mistaken, the connecting rods are more like 159 inch lbs., I don't know about the heads. Someone needs to grab a book and double check these numbers for Eric.

 

I think it should be 159 inch pounds +/- 9 inch pounds.

I made the same mistake when I first looked at the specs that were in my service manual.

Here is what my manual says.

(177 ± 9 lb-in.)

180 inch pounds

CYLINDER HEAD

P218G, P220G, B43E, B43G, B48G Torque-In Sequence 20 ± 1 N·m (180 ± 12 lb-in.)

if you don't have a inch pound torque wrench.the heads will be 15ft.lbs.12in pounds for every 1 ft pound.brad
